George Joseph Lattea, 49, of Weston passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 in United Hospital Center of Bridgeport following a brief Illness. He was born in Lewis County on December 19, 1969: son of George W. Lattea and Rosemary (Goldsmith) Lattea.

Mr. Lattea is survived by two children: Chelsea Renee Lattea of Romney and Joseph Wayne Lattea of Weston and four grandchildren: Owen and Sadie Jo Lattea and Mackenzie and Issac Green. He is also survived by two brothers: William Raymond “Bill” Lattea and wife Diane of Buckhannon,and James “Jim” Lattea and wife Barbara of Weston, one daughter-in-law:Kasey Lattea of Camden and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lattea worked in maintenance with Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital and had worked at Weston Transfer. He was a graduate of Lewis County High School with the class of 1989. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and go-cart racing. His greatest joy was spending time with friends, family and especially his grandkids.

Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Martin Wine officiating. Interment will follow services in the Rock Grove Cemetery of Linn, WV. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of George may be expressed at

So sorry to hear about Joe, I knew he was sick for awhile. I worked with Joe at the hospital for many years. He was always nice and kind to me. Also related, but that's not important. My heart goes out to his family, mother, father, brothers, children. You guys are in my prayers.
